My Story

Who doesn't love a good comeback story? From humble beginnings to a successful IT career I am living proof that if you keep your head up and don't give in you can accomplish your dreams.

In 2006 I enrolled at Pittsburgh Technical Institute majoring in Computer Science, it was natural fit for me as I had been interested in computers since the age of 10 years old and I dreamt of turning that passion into my job. Though I excelled in my education, during my schooling I became very ill and ended up dropping classes and not completing my degree. I didn't let that stop me. After recovering my health over a number of years I self studied my way to multiple IT certifications and began working at a Pittsburgh based datacenter where I purposely took the path of "most resistance" to gain as much valuable industry experience as possible. I like to think that I'm proof that curriculum matters less than passion in your pursuit.

Throughout my career I have taken on mentoring opportunities and leadership roles whenever possible. At Armstrong Cable Services I taught classes of new hires troubleshooting and soft skills (phone skills) served as a 1 on 1 mentoring agent, and served as a lead troubleshooting agent. At Expedient Data Centers I mentored a fresh out of school new hire to the point where they left that job to become an Engineer. Truth be told I love teaching and sharing knowledge.
